Coastal Tech maintains a state-of-the-art Coastal Geology & Sediments Laboratory for analysis of sediments in conjunction with identification of potential borrow area for beach and dune restoration. These analyses yield all data and formats mandated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and|or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Through our Lab, we offer the following services:

Featured Coastal Geology & Sediments Lab Project
Recent and proposed improvements to Public Beach Accesses on Siesta Key necessitated placement of off-site borrow fill within limited areas on the upper portion of the native beach. The County desired to ensure that the fill sand placed on the beach accesses was as compatible as possible with the native beach sands and fully met the regulatory requirements of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. There were at least three sand options for the fill sand available from the operator of a local borrow source.
