October 14, 2011 - Coastal Tech's Melbourne Office and Coastal Geology & Sediments Lab has a new home! The new address is 1333 Gateway Drive., Suite 1004, Melbourne, FL 32901.

September 2011 - Coastal Tech was ranked 1st by the City of Sarasota in their RFP selection process for "Consulting Engineering Services for Long-Range Beach Management"

August 2011 - Coastal Tech was selected as 1 of 8 firms by Calhoun County, Texas to assist the County with "Engineering Services in Support of State and Federal Grants"

July 8, 2011 - Coastal Tech was selected as one of four consultants for Martin County's Marine Engineering services.

June 4, 2011 - Tem Fontaine, E.I., passed his NCEES exam and is now a Florida Professional Engineer. Congratulations Tem!

May 13, 2011 - Coastal Tech was selected by Lee County for their Bonita Beach Nourishment Design & Permitting.

April 8, 2011 - Coastal Tech was selected for the Broward County Library of Environmental Consultant Services.

February 15, 2011 - Coastal Tech participates at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Bird Key Park.

2010

December 28, 2010 - Walker Dawson, E.I. passed his NCEES exam and is now a Florida Professional Engineer. Congratulations Walker!

November 30, 2010 - Coastal Tech was selected by Charlotte County for the Professional Services Library.

August 25 2010 - Coastal Tech was ranked 1st by the City of Venice for Coastal Engineer of Record.

May 27, 2010 - Coastal Tech was selected by Lee County for County-Wide Environmenal Consultants

May 24, 2010 - Navarre Beach was awarded Best Restored Beach for 2010 by the American Beach and Shore Preservation Association (ASBPA). This award, given annually, recognizes restoration projects that are economically and ecologically beneficial, that are successful both short and long term, and challanges that were overcome during the course of the project. Judging is performed by an independent panel of coastal managers and scientists.

Coastal Tech has been providing professional services to Santa Rosa County since 1999. Services have included; Beach Management and Design Feasibility Study, Geotechnical Investigation, Economic Development, Design, Permitting and Construction Phase Services, and Post Construction Monitoring.

April 25, 2010 - Dr. Cliff Truitt P.E., Michael Walther P.E., and James Marino P.E. were inducted and by the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE), an affiliate of the American Society of Civil Engineers as Diplomates of Coastal Engineering. March 18, 2010 - Coastal Tech ranked #2 of 9 consultants selected for FDEP’s Professional Coastal Engineering Services throughout the State Parks System.

January 9, 2010 - Jeffrey C. Birmingham, a Coastal Tech Staff Engineer in our Melbourne office, has received his Professional Engineer license from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Congratulations Jeff!!

2009

September 17, 2009 - At the Florida Shore & Beach Preservation Association Amelia Island Annual Conference, Michael Walther, P.E., President of Coastal Technology Corporation, (center) was presented the Jim Purpura/T.Y. Chiu Engineering Award. This award was given to Mr. Walther for his “outstanding scientific contribution to Florida’s beach management and coastal regulatory programs”

July 27, 2009 - The Moffatt and Nichol Team, which includes 1. Coastal Tech, 2. Dial Cordy & Associates and 3. Dr. Bill Cleary and Charles Jones, has been selected by Carteret County, North Carolina for the Bogue Banks Master Beach Nourishment Plan.

July 13, 2009 - Coastal Tech is selected by the Texas General Land Office for Coastal Engineering Design, Review Planning, Analysis & other services necessary to implement CEPRA.

July 2, 2009 - Coastal Tech is one of four consultants selected by Volusia County, Florida for Professional Engineering Services.

May 19, 2009 - Coastal Tech is one of two consultants selected (and the only consultant reselected) by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for their State Beach Management Program.

March 16, 2009 - Coastal Tech is presented the Environmental Citizen Award by the Pelican Island Audubon Society.

January 24, 2009 - Coastal Tech completes its first workday on the Prange Islands.

2008

December 22, 2008 - Coastal Tech is ranked in top two consultants by St. Lucie County for Coastal Engineering Services.

November 18, 2008 - Coastal Tech officially adopts the Prange Islands located in the Indian River Lagoon. As part of this three year commitment, Coastal Tech will be removing trash, clearing and maintaining nature trails, installing educational signs, restoring camping areas and removing exotics such as Brazilian Pepper and Australian Pine.

September 30, 2008 - Coastal Tech is ranked in the top five consultants for the Town of Palm Beach Coastal Strategic Planning.

September 3, 2008 - Coastal Tech is ranked #1 of 10 consultants by Sarasota County for the Robert's Bay Spoil Island Restoration.

July 30, 2008 - Coastal Tech is ranked #2 of 10 consultants by Brevard County for Coastal Engineering Services.
